Dear Mr Murphy I would like to thank you for the excellent treatment I have received with regard to my implants. As an 'experienced' patient in both NHS and private sectors I feel well qualified to recognise a first class service when I see it. From start to finish the total package of presentation, expertise and teamwork has been most impressive and I would not hesitate to recommend your organisation to anyone requiring dental work. I look forward to seeing you later in the year, and I'll bet there aren't many people who would feel comfortable saying that after a visit to their dentist! J W (Nottingham) |
My decision to have implants, was due to failing bridgework on the lower right hand side of the jaw. The options were to just have the failing teeth out, or a removable denture, or implants. I needed replacement teeth, as these were ‘chewing’ teeth and the second option of a removable denture, was something I didn’t consider for very long, knowing two friends who had both gone for this type of dental work found them not to their liking in a very short time. In fact one kept his in the glove compartment of his car, and the other kept hers in the kitchen cupboard - obviously not recommended on a hygiene list for the mouth! My first stage of treatment was for the removal of the failing teeth, and in my particular case the removal of some bone on the jaw, which was then inserted into the area to take the implants. This was because while I had depth for the implants, I needed extra width so that the new implants could sit firmly in the jaw. This procedure may not be necessary for others, as they may naturally have sufficient jaw area to accommodate implants. After healing of the gums took place, I then had three titanium dental implants inserted, again following healing, the fitting of provisional acrylic implant bridgework was undertaken. After impressions were taken to get the right fitment for the top and bottom teeth to enable correct chewing movement, the manufacture of the implants was then commenced in the laboratory. During all the many stages involved to create comfortable and healthy dental bridgework for me, David and the implant team, explained all the processes, also the choice of materials I could have in the construction of the new teeth. They were considerate and professional, which gave me confidence in their dentistry throughout all the procedures. My dental work took place over a year ago, and this year I had X-rays taken to see if the teeth were now in good working order. All was perfect, and although implants can work out expensive, in my opinion, they are well worth the financial outlay. Should you be considering implants, my view is ‘yes’ have them done.
